New York, NY - The Eastern Premier Soccer League (EPSL) is proud to welcome New York Athletic Club (NYAC) as a promoted side into the Metropolitan Conference. NYAC is one of the most successful league sides in the NY Metropolitan area, having won 7 Cosmpolitan Soccer League (CSL) titles, most recently winning the title in 2012-13. At the end of last season, NYAC barely missed out on winning the CSL Division 1 title to Central Park Rangers on the final matchday of the season. The Metropolitan Conference always intended to re-expand to 12 clubs for 2022-23, and therefore sent out an invitation to all the champions of the conference's feeder leagues. CSL & GSSL's champions accepted promotion, while the LISFL champion did not, which meant that invitations extended to runners-up. NYAC accepted the invitation, and rejoins the EPSL after previously being a founding member of the league back in 2020-21. That season they unfortunately finished in last place and were relegated back into the CSL for 2021-22. They return, and add more historic value and quality to a very competitive Metropolitan Conference, meaning every top-flight league champion from the CSL since 2008 is officially in the EPSL now. The season kicks off in just over a month.
